Not everyone has a Studio Dog. And this has led to some pretty funny chats with artists where I confuse them seven times over, before making myself as clear as mud. (I hope they were funny for the artists too.) … Continue reading Helen Richards | The sheep!
Robyn Sweaney is a painter from the northern NSW town of Mullumbimby. Her works are gentle and intimate portraits of our classically Australian ‘suburban faces’. Robyn’s new work is exhibiting right now at Arthouse Gallery in Sydney – click here … Continue reading Robyn Sweaney | Athena from next door
We here at FOUND! HQ (the dog and I) are excited to welcome artist Gabrielle McDonald to the project. Gabrielle lives and works in one of the coastal communities here in Bundaberg and is a powerhouse of vitality and innovation. … Continue reading Gabrielle McDonald | Pippi + Tua + Iti Kiore
Gasp! Apologies, I have to collect myself. Look at this sublime work by Brisbane artist John Honeywill. John’s work will hang in the central venue at Bundaberg Regional Art Gallery and we know there will be many community connections to … Continue reading John Honeywill | Gus
Before 2020 became an even more memorable year than we imagined, an arts buddy asked me—in a protective/caring way—’what are you getting out of the FOUND! project’. And I think these conversations are one of the answers to that question. … Continue reading Susan Lincoln | Ziggy
All right stopCollaborate and listenIso is back with my brand new invention… Yes, they really are (almost) the words by Mr Vanilla! So somebody had a good day then? Every now and then I will greedily chew up a blog page with positive news, other than the news of the amaaaazing participating FOUND! artists. It was a good day, I had the most solid 3 hours on a piece in the studio that I’ve had in weeks. How are you doing? Are you saying out loud “it’s all great, as artists we’re used to being on our own, working away” … Continue reading Iso Iso Baby
FOUND! artist Lin Martin is a long time friend, once-upon-a-time work colleague, and fellow artist-in-isolation. Lin has taught me much about words over the years, and has helped me craft the questions I plan to ask other fellow artists-in-isolation over the coming weeks and months. Lin’s work spans 40+ years and she’s always shown me it’s okay to be like a dog with a bone when pursuing an idea, and have a bloomin’ good lie down when you’re done or if it’s not working. We both think it’s funny and, as it turns out, essential to have these ferals in … Continue reading Lin Martin | ZeZe + India
This is more like teaching a new dog old tricks but with the world being a little upside down and inside out right now, we’re harking back to the Land of Blogging as (hopefully) a great way of reaching wider with our Art Trail project. 😀 If you’d like to follow the blog (click the follow thingy + below) you’ll receive a treat to your inbox whenever we post. There will be chats about artists who have joined the project, their studio companions, or the companions they’ve adopted. We’ll sniff out guest artists to talk about their work, and the … Continue reading FOUNDing Dog Blog
