FOUND! Studio Dog is a visual arts exhibition and art trail of works by local and high profile invited artists, in play across September and October, 2020.

Staged from the Bundaberg Regional Art Gallery—and located across more than 30 cafes, businesses and wall spaces—FOUND! creates a community art trail based around the artists’ lovable studio companions.

Artists and gallerists in other regions are excited too, and satellite events will be staged in Maryborough, Hervey Bay, and Brisbane. WOOF!

The project will showcase local and invited artists to the animal-lovers and art-lovers in the Bundaberg region and beyond.

Together, as a community, we will sniff out stories of how artists work, the solitary nature of being an artist, and the role of animals of all kinds in our general and mental health. This really is a year to come together in any way we can.

What the heck 2020? FOUND! has been slowly baking for nearly 3 years and we’re so excited it can go ahead. The nature of public events are still to unfold so we’ll keep you posted, but you will be able to walk the trail and find the artworks any time of the day or night. We can’t wait!

The project and blog curator, Adrienne Williams, is a visual artist who has lived in the Bundaberg and North Burnett regions for 11 years. She is excited to promote the work of fellow artists with this fun and accessible exhibition, and hopes you are too. Her studio dog, Sunday, keeps her on task, even on the dreariest of chores.

To be honest she’s been a little overwhelmed by the positive response to the project, not just by the amazing artists who said ‘yes’, but also the team at Bundaberg Regional Galleries, the Bundaberg Regional Council, and Arts Queensland through the Regional Arts Development Fund. There are local businesses ready to show works, and Bruce Heiser Projects, the Side Gallery, and Red Hill Gallery in Brisbane are working with us to bring you something pretty special.

So, please sit, stay, follow along, and if you’d like to have any related works with a story of your studio buddy posted here, just make contact 😀
